This is a hard one for me. Ever since I quit my comfortable, corporate job, consistency has been one the biggest professional challenges. Holding myself accountable to do the same tasks, day after day, is just not something that comes naturally to me.
My priority is showing up for my clients, because their relationship is extremely important to me. But, when it comes to showing up consistently for my business, I often fall short.
The truth is, consistency is a superpower. It is a key component to creating and maintaining success.
Consistency Builds Momentum
Whether you’re posting to social media, attending an active networking group, or working in a cooperative space – being consistent about showing up, and adding value to people’s day will help you build momentum.
When you show up at the same time, same place a few days in a row – a handful of people take notice. Keep showing up consistently, and those people will start to look for you – they might even mention you to their friends and colleagues.
If you show up at the same time, same place over a few hundred days – you attract a following, and your audience starts coming to you.
Consistency Creates Opportunities
You can be extremely skilled, personable, and qualified – but if you aren’t consistent, no one will consider you when an opportunity shows up.
People invest in those who are consistent because it a guarantees a return on their investment.
Consistency Builds Trust
People should know what to expect and what the outcome will be when they encounter your brand. If they feel like things are constantly changing, they will feel confused and become disinterested in your business.
Being consistent builds trust and leads to more positive feelings toward your brand.
Consistency Leads to Success
You will always be chasing dreams if you’re not willing to be consistent, and stay consistent for a long period of time. Consistency is required for anyone to achieve their long term goals. In order to realize your dreams, you must consistently work toward making them a reality.
Consistency is the foundation for achieving your long term goals.
I’ve read that habits are developed over a range of 18 to 254 days, so I’m giving myself a challenge. I will dedicate time to grow my business consistently. I will work toward reaching my professional goals every day, until it becomes a habit.
